Green Council held the inauguration ceremony of "GreenTech Alliance" at the Eco Expo Asia 2016 last month, and invited the Secretary of the Environment Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP as officiating guests. The purpose of the alliance is to embrace all leading greener technology efforts – processes, products, services, etc. It provides a platform in which stakeholders can communicate, promote and share approaches and accomplishments.
The advisory committee of GreenTech Alliance is comprised of representatives from the public sector and professional bodies, including the Legislative Council, the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers, the Hong Kong Green Strategy Alliance, the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. D&G Technology is one of the founding members.
Following the inaugural ceremony, the first seminar was held to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the development of environmental technologies in Hong Kong, and invited representatives of the advisory committee and founding members to discuss the challenges. Ms Glendy Choi, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of D&G Technology, said at the seminar, "Hong Kong enjoys the advantages of geographical location by grasping the latest trends, such as green finance, expanding its customer base and brand building, as well as the market trends, such as the development of green finance. There will be unlimited business opportunities.”
The Alliance expects to provide the Government with more effective data and gather industry views through a series of activities such as seminars and surveys so as to formulate more favorable and industry-friendly policies in future.
