In Hong Kong, 3600 tons of food waste which equal to the total weight of 250 double-decker buses is sent to the landfills on a daily basis. Around 1 million HK people are living below the poverty line and 1 in 7 HK people go around under nourished. Food Angel, a sustainable Food Rescue and Food Assistance Program, was launched in 2011 with the ultimate goal of achieving Waste Not Hunger Not. Today, Food Angel serve 6000 free hot meals and food packs daily to people in need of food assistance and rescue 3000kg surplus food from going to the landfills every day. To support Food Angel, D&G Technology has organized its HK staff to take part in the volunteer work program of Food Angel. Through the half-day program, the staff got to know food waste issues in Hong Kong and they helped prepare Food Angel meals together. The Company hopes that the concept of Waste Not, Hunger Not can be disseminated to the staff and all staff can become Food Angels.

WWF-Hong Kong Corporate Membership Programme Awards Presentation Ceremony 2016 was held on 3 November. Awards were presented to all corporate members at the ceremony. Award was also presented to D&G Technology, one of the Silver Members of WWF-Hong Kong. At the ceremony, “Achieving Net Zero Carbon” and “WWF’s Work in Combating Illegal Wildlife Trade” were shared by WWF-Hong Kong representatives and a presentation on Global Marine Litter Problem was also made by the producer of an adventure documentary “Plastic Ocean”.

Green Council held the inauguration ceremony of "GreenTech Alliance" at the Eco Expo Asia 2016 last month, and invited the Secretary of the Environment Bureau of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Wong Kam-sing, GBS, JP as officiating guests. The purpose of the alliance is to embrace all leading greener technology efforts – processes, products, services, etc. It provides a platform in which stakeholders can communicate, promote and share approaches and accomplishments.
The advisory committee of GreenTech Alliance is comprised of representatives from the public sector and professional bodies, including the Legislative Council, the Hong Kong Institute of Engineers, the Hong Kong Green Strategy Alliance, the Federation of Hong Kong Industries, the Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks Corporation. D&G Technology is one of the founding members.
Following the inaugural ceremony, the first seminar was held to discuss the challenges and opportunities for the development of environmental technologies in Hong Kong, and invited representatives of the advisory committee and founding members to discuss the challenges. Ms Glendy Choi, Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of D&G Technology, said at the seminar, "Hong Kong enjoys the advantages of geographical location by grasping the latest trends, such as green finance, expanding its customer base and brand building, as well as the market trends, such as the development of green finance. There will be unlimited business opportunities.”
The Alliance expects to provide the Government with more effective data and gather industry views through a series of activities such as seminars and surveys so as to formulate more favorable and industry-friendly policies in future.

The award presentation ceremony was held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre on 2nd November, and was officiated by the Hon. CY Leung, GBM, GBS, JP, Chief Executive of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.
The FHKI first organised the Young Industrialist Awards in 1988 to praise Hong Kong’s young industrialists for their outstanding contribution in Hong Kong industrial and economic development. There are 8 young industrialists awarded the title this year. The judges are impressed by Ms. Choi’s vision, as well as her effort in cultivating talents, and consider her well-deserved to be awarded.

Ms. Choi joined the Company in 2009. She is primarily responsible for overseeing the corporate management of the Group, products and technology development, and the overall management and implementation of business and marketing strategies and plans. In order to fulfill the environmental requirement of the PRC government and sustainable development needs of the industry, the Group is committed to the research and development of environmental friendly asphalt mixing plants. The products have been exported to various countries along the Belt and Road area. Ms. Choi is keen on promoting recycling plants, to reduce the environmental impact of surrounding communities during the production process by reducing pollutant emissions and meet environmental targets, and achieve sustainable development.
In 2015, the Group was successfully listed on the Main Board of The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited. It was awarded with the “QuamIR Awards 2015 – First Year after Listing category” and “Belt and Road Environmental Leadership Recognition Award” sponsored by the FHKI and Bank of China (Hong Kong) in the same year.

D&G Technology has participated at Eco Expo Asia 2016, a trade fair organized by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and co-organized by the Environment Bureau of the Government of HKSAR, dedicated to fostering global green innovations, with the theme being “Green Solutions for a Changing Climate”. Ms. Glendy Choi was awarded APEA2016. CEO of D&G Technology, Ms Glendy Choi, was awarded the Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards 2016 (APEA 2016). The Asia Pacific Entrepreneurship Awards (APEA) is a regional recognition program organized by Enterprise Asia. The Awards are presented to entrepreneurs across Asia Pacific each year, with award ceremonies held in over thirteen countries every year. Awardees are expected to be torchbearers of entrepreneurship and business leaders in their respective countries, and adhere to a strict standard of personal and business ethics.
This year the final thirteen were announced at the awards ceremony in Hong Kong at the JW Marriott Hotel on 30 September. The recipients in Hong Kong were selected from among 80 shortlisted candidates. The Awards has recognized the business leaders of Hong Kong as the drivers and backbone of Hong Kong’s economy.
Ocean and waterway trash ranks as one of the most serious pollution problems choking our planet. D&G Technology supports the International Coastal Cleanup 2016 Hong Kong campaign, a global event initiated by Ocean Conservancy in 1986. A cleanup was organized in end-Sep to help cleaning Sandy Bay, a beach on Hong Kong Island. Majority of Hong Kong staff volunteered to participate in this meaningful activity and a total of 60kg rubbish was collected during the activity. The Company hopes to demonstrate a good example to the public to support environmental conservation.
22 September is World Car Free Day. Vehicular emission is the main source of street-level pollution and air pollutants harm our health. D&G Technology, as a COOL Corporate Member of Friends of the Earth (HK), would also like to play a role in reducing roadside air pollution and carbon emission. The Company has registered online and committed to go for 80% participation rate. Not only the top management support this meaningful initiative, but all staff are also urged to take public transport and stop driving on that day.
D&G Technology has joined the Corporate Membership Programme of WWF-Hong Kong (WWF) recently. This is another step of the Company to show its support to environmental conservation and take the corporate social responsibility. Being the corporate member of WWF, the Company is going to get actively involved in conservation efforts. It is expected that the Company will spread the message of conservation’s importance and value within the organization and engage in more conservation activities in the future.

June 5 is the World Environment Day. It is also Hong Kong Green Day. Green Council has organized a series of green activities to spread the message of “Go Green, Act Green”. To show our support to this green event, D&G Technology is the Green Leader Sponsor of the Hong Kong Green Day 2016. Mr Derek Choi, our Executive Director, is one of the officiating guests at the Hong Kong Green Day Kick-off Ceremony 2016. Apart from sponsoring the event, the Group has also helped promote the message of environmental protection within the company and to the public by arranging a series of activities. Activities include encouraging the staff to wear and display green in their clothing and accessories on June 5, preparing promotional boards on energy saving tips, arranging internal training on low carbon environmental protection and waste separation, and distribution of gifts with environmental tips to the public in Langfang community. The Company hopes to take the lead to increase the awareness for environmental responsibility and protection.

The products have been exported to various countries along the Belt and Road area, including India, Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, etc. The Group completed a number of environmental projects last year, and some were selected to participate in the BOCHK Corporate Environmental Leadership Awards Programme which is jointly organized by the Federation of Hong Kong Industries and Bank of China (Hong Kong), to compete the awards with more than 450 participating enterprises. The awards aim to encourage enterprises to implement environmental protection measures and reduce environmental pollution, and commend those enterprises to contribute in environmental protection. Apart from wining the EcoChallenger award, D&G Technology is honored to win “Belt and Road Environmental Leadership Recognition Award”. The panel praised the Group’s contribution in reduction of environmental pollution. The award is in recognition of the outstanding performance of the enterprise implementing environmental protection measures in the regions along “Belt and Road”.

A guided walk and DIY workshop at Island House Conservation Studies Centre was arranged to Hong Kong employees on May 20. D&G Technology participated in the Belt and Road Summit in Hong Kong on 18 May which the keynote speech was addressed by Mr. Zhang Dejiang, the Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress of the People’s Republic of China. Many other renowned business leaders attend the Summit. D&G Technology is one of the Hong Kong enterprises in more than thirty exhibitors. The Group interacted with various potential business partners from different sectors, in order to seek collaborations and build business connections.
D&G Technology has a solid international business foundation, with its products exporting to 22 countries. The Group is one of the few local enterprises which directly involve in the Belt and Road construction. We have been following up some landmark projects along the Belt and Road regions recently. We have strong overseas sales network and a new and tailored brand of asphalt mixing plants and solutions, PRIMACH, was launched to provide customized equipment and services targeting the needs of the customers in the countries along Belt and Road.

The Company has obtained many awards within the industry over the years. This award is the first prize on investor relations that the Group received. This recognizes the prominent IR efforts of the Group over the past year and has great significance. Since listing, D&G Technology would meet with several investors one by one after major new release or results announcement, to keep them informed with comprehensive and accurate understanding of the Company’s business and future plans so that they can be close to the Company’s development. Last year the Group has also organized investors tour to visit its production base in Langfang, Hebei and job site.
